Ailu is Liana’s AI, formerly known as Liana AI Assistant. This article answers the most common questions about what Ailu can do, how to get the best results and how your data is handled.
1. Getting Started & Capabilities
Q: What can Ailu actually do?
Ailu is a brand-aware creative partner designed to speed up your marketing and communications workflow. It can:
- Draft copy: Write social media captions, email subject lines, blog outlines and ad copy in your organization’s tone of voice.
- Generate images: Create royalty-free visuals from scratch based on your descriptions.
- Brainstorm: Generate content calendars or campaign ideas.
Q: What does “brand-aware” mean?
Once your organization has set up Ailu, it knows the essentials about your business and uses them in every prompt. Ailu can know your:
- Products and services
- Brand, including tone of voice, colors and terminology
- Market and competitors
- Marketing
- Legal information
The details are shared with your whole team, so everyone gets consistent, on-brand content.
Q: How do I make Ailu brand-aware?
Go to Ailu settings in LianaAccount and select Start quick setup. Ailu reads your website or brand guide and fills in the details for you. You review everything before it is saved. See the article How to set up brand-aware Ailu with Quick setup for step-by-step instructions.
Q: Who can set up Ailu and edit the brand details?
Only admins can run the setup and edit Ailu settings. After that, everyone in your organization who uses Ailu benefits from the saved details.
Q: Does Ailu know about my specific products or data from Liana products?
Ailu knows the products and services saved in Ailu settings. It is not connected to live data in your Liana products or any other tool, so it does not see, for example, your subscriber lists or campaign statistics.
Tip: Ailu knows what your products are, but not the details of a specific offer. If you want it to write a description for a particular red sneaker you sell, include the details that matter (features, price, material, URL) in the prompt.
Q: Can Ailu see my previous newsletters or press releases?
No. Ailu does not read your past newsletters, press releases or posts. It does remember the brand details saved in Ailu settings, so you no longer need to describe your tone of voice or terminology in every prompt. If you want a different tone for one piece (e.g., “urgent” or “witty”), say so in your instructions.
2. Creating Text Content
Q: How do I get the best results when writing copy?
Context is key. If Ailu has been set up with your brand details, you can focus on the task and skip describing your business. Use the Role-Task-Context formula:
- Role: “Act as a social media manager for a luxury bakery.”
- Task: “Write an Instagram caption about our new croissants.”
- Context: “Mention that they are 50% off this weekend only.”
If your organization has not set up Ailu yet, or the details are incomplete, add more background about your business to the prompt.
Q: Can I trust the facts Ailu writes?
You should always verify the output. Ailu might “hallucinate” (make up) facts, dates or technical specifications, even when it knows your brand. Always review and edit the content before publishing to ensure it aligns with your actual offers. See more details in the Understanding AI Hallucinations article.
Q: Can Ailu write in languages other than English?
Yes. Ailu is capable of generating content in dozens of major languages. Simply specify the desired language in your prompt (e.g., “Write this email in Spanish”). When you set up Ailu from your website, it reads all pages and subdomains in all the languages the site uses.
3. Image Generation
Q: Can Ailu generate an image of my specific product?
No. Ailu generates images based on text descriptions; it does not have access to your photo library.
- What it can do: Create lifestyle imagery, background textures or generic representations and it can use your brand colors (e.g., “A happy couple drinking coffee in a cozy shop where the shop uses my brand colors”). Ailu can also search information from online sources and add it to the image (e.g., look for a weather forecast for London and make a 5-day infograph about it)
- What it cannot do: Place your specific branded coffee cup into a generated image.
Q: Who owns the images created by Ailu?
You generally have the right to use the images for your commercial marketing. However, be aware that AI-generated images cannot typically be trademarked or copyrighted in the same way human art can. See more details in the Liana AI Commercial Usage & Freedom to Operate article.
Q: The text inside the generated image looks weird. Why?
Current AI image generators struggle with rendering legible text (like signs or logos) inside images. We recommend using Ailu to generate the visual, and then using design tools to overlay your text or logo afterwards.
4. Privacy & Safety
Q: Is my input data used to train the public AI model?
No. Your data remains private. The prompts you enter into Ailu are not used to train the public AI models.
Q: What happens to the website or brand guide I give Ailu?
Ailu reads it to suggest your organization’s details, and you review everything before it is saved. Details you do not select are discarded. If you scan a brand guide file, it is saved in the Brand tab of Ailu settings for later reference, and you can remove it at any time.
Q: Who can see the brand details saved in Ailu?
The details are shared with the users in your organization, so that your whole team uses the same information when creating content with Ailu. Only admins can edit them.
Q: Is the content unique? Will I be flagged for plagiarism?
Ailu generates content word-by-word and pixel-by-pixel; it does not “copy-paste” from the internet. However, because it learns from common patterns, short phrases may resemble existing content. We always recommend adding your unique human touch to the final draft. See more details in the Liana AI Commercial Usage & Freedom to Operate article.
5. Troubleshooting
Q: Ailu keeps giving me generic advice. How do I fix it?
There are two common causes:
- Missing brand details: Open Ailu settings and check the Overview tab. It shows how many fields are filled in for each area. Ask an admin to complete the empty ones.
- A prompt that is too broad: Be specific about the audience, length, tone and goal.
Bad prompt: “Write a sales email.”
Good prompt: “Write a 100-word sales email for a B2B software audience. The tone should be urgent but polite. The goal is to get them to book a demo for next Tuesday.”
Q: Ailu used wrong or outdated information about my company. What should I do?
Ask an admin to review the tabs in Ailu settings: Products and Services, Brand, Market and Competitors, Marketing and Legal. Items can be edited or removed, and new ones added manually. Quick fill can also search your website again for the tab’s information, and you review and approve the result.
Q: I do not see Ailu settings or the Start quick setup button.
Only admins can run the setup and edit Ailu settings. Ask an admin in your organization to do it.
Q: My brand guide will not upload. Why?
Check the file type and size. The maximum size is 10 MB per document and 20 MB per image, and each user can upload up to 100 MB per day in total. Supported formats:
- Documents and text: .txt, .pdf, .docx, .rtf, .html
- Presentations: .pptx
- Spreadsheets: .xlsx, .csv, .tsv
- Images: .jpg, .jpeg, .png, .webp,
Q: I scanned my website again. Will my existing details be overwritten?
No. Ailu shows your existing details, and you decide whether to keep or delete them.
