Anchors are like bookmarks to a certain part of a webpage. If you create a link connected to an anchor on the page, the page automatically jumps to the part that the anchor is connected to.
An anchor is created by choosing a specific part of text and by clicking the Add anchor/Modify anchor icon on the toolbar. After this the anchor is named.
A created anchor is displayed as a red flag icon on the editor. However, on the website itself the anchor is invisible and only starts to work when an actual link is connected to it. When creating the actual link, you choose the part of the text where you want the link, but instead of an URL address the link is created with anchor's name and hashtag, for example #anchorname.
