Tables

  • Updated

A table is added straight among other content. Start adding a table by taking the cursor where you want the table to go. After that click the Table icon.

Table properties

In addition to the basic properties, you can determine some additional properties that affect the table's layout, for example. These additional properties are site-specific, ask more about them from your account manager.

Rows and columns
These determine the number on rows and columns in the table. You can later modify these by double-clicking the table.

Width and height
You can determine the width and the height of the table. If these are left empty, the table's size will be determined by the content of its cells. You can later also modify the size of the table by dragging its borders with the mouse.

Headers
With a header you can determine the first row's and/or column's cells as the so-called header cells. In result their formatting will differ from the normal cells' formatting.

Border size
The table's border size can be determined.

Cell spacing and padding
Cell spacing determines how far apart the cells in the table are from each other. Cell padding determines how far apart the cell border and the text in the cell are.

Alignment
Alignment determines where on the page the table is (left, right or center).

Caption and summary
The caption of the table will be shown under the table. The summary feature of the table creates a summary attribute to the table's HTML code that is not shown to the site visitor and its significance is very small nowadays.
