Use the Is in segment option when you want the automation chain to based on whether someone is in a certain segment.
First, choose whether you want to:
- Wait until is in segment
- Wait until is in segment for specific time OR
- Check if is in segment
Wait until is in segment
In the Wait until is in segment option the automation starts when the segment condition is met. The condition of the segment can be, for example, downloading a guide. The automation starts when a person downloads the guide. The automation doesn't start if the condition isn't met.
Wait until is in segment for specific time
In the Wait until is in segment option the automation starts when the segment condition is met within a specific time. The automation doesn't start if the condition is met after the specific time has ran out. After choosing, determine the wait time in days, hours and minutes.
Check if is in segment
With this option you can determine that the action attached to the element starts if a person has, at some point of the automation chain met the segment's condition, despite of whether this stage is directly attached to the automation plan or is at an earlier stage.
After this choose the segment you have created earlier on the Segments tab.
