Message settings

  • Updated

Only the specific settings, some of which are set according to the template default settings, concerning an individual delivery can be changed from the delivery settings.

1 The name and email address of the sender are those defined in the template as a default. Note that there may be several to choose from. Here you can also specify the sender name and email address to be used for this message separately. In order to avoid the sender's email filling with autoresponders, like out of office messages, there are two options:
  1. If you want to go through the automated responses, a separate email address where these messages are directed should be created for them.
  2. If there is no need to go through the autoresponders, they can be directed to a made-up email address. A made-up address should have a connection with your domain, like newsletter@company.com, for example.
2 A separate reply-to email address should be created for the customers' possible replies. The reply-to address can now also be saved to LianaMailer so that it's always ready when you're using the same template. Contact our support team and we'll save the address you want in the template settings. You can also determine the reply-to address yourself but then the address must be given every time with a new delivery.
3 Choose the subscription/unsubscription site if your account is linked to several.
4 It is possible to schedule the delivery if you want the message to be sent at a later time. Enter the desired time of delivery into the Delivery time field. The message will be sent immediately if the field is left empty. You can also choose a timezone that you want to be used in the delivery.

Certain reporting labels can be given to newsletters. The statistics from the newsletters are then labeled according to these selections and report interpretation becomes more clear.

Reporting label is chosen in message settings during delivery from existing labels or a new one can be created. The labeling can also be done on the report page.

6

A deliverability analysis, which is an additional feature, tests how service providers receive the newsletter. Testing is performed at the same time as the delivery. For example, you can see if some email provider classifies the newsletter as spam. Based on the written analysis, you will receive a suggestion on how to eliminate the potential problem.

7

We recommend sending the images in the newsletter as links. This makes the message size smaller and it is more likely to be delivered and not caught in the receiver's spam filters.

8

Track link clicks
You can choose whether the link clicks of your delivery are tracked. This feature is visible only if link tracking has been enabled on your account. Contact our support team if you want more information.

9

Track message opens
You can choose whether the message opens of your delivery are tracked. This feature is visible only if link tracking has been enabled on your account. Contact our support team if you want more information.

10

It is possible to get tracking links to newsletters for Snoobi and Google Analytics, for example. In this case, the user's tracking information is attached to the links in the message, and the site to which the link in the message takes can interpret how the user has come to the site. More information about these tracking methods can be found on the third-party link tracking page

Some email clients show a little portion of the newsletter in the inbox listing, in addition to the sender and headline, which is called a preheader. This is the case in Gmail, Apple Mail, for instance, as well as many other email clients. You can compose a preheader text in the field that opens by ticking the preheader box. If the preheader setting is not turned on, the clients that use a preheader show the text that is first in your newsletter, often Open this message in a browser here if this message doesn't display correctly, and so on. The first actual content parts of your text describe your newsletter a lot better and affect whether the receiver opens the newsletter or not.

1 You can compile the recipients at the time of the delivery by ticking the Compile subscribers during delivery box. This selection is recommended if your delivery is scheduled to happen after a long period of time or if the recipient list is very large. This way the subscribers that have canceled in between the scheduling and delivery time will not get the newsletter.
2

If you don't want some list members to receive the newsletter (even though their addresses would be on the recipient lists) you can tick the box for Remove recipients in lists.

3 You can remove recipients who have received a message after or within a certain period of time from the message delivery.
4 Event management tool Eventilla can be integrated with LianaMailer, and it is possible to remove recipients who have already registered to the event from the delivery.
5

If you want the delivery to be added to some of your RSS feeds, choose the feed here.

If you want the delivery to be displayed on an archive page, choose the page here. Even if you don't select an archive, the message may still contain an archive link that you can share. This setting only affects listings.

You can create promotions related to your newsletter that are displayed for the recipients viewing the message in Gmail.

  • Upload organization or product logo.
  • Give the promotion a subject line. The subject line can be different from the newsletter subject line.
  • Write the promotion copy to the Deal badge field.
  • Give the possible discount code that allows the reader to get your discount.
  • Upload the promotion image.
  • Determine the promotion availability start and end.

Restrictions for the use of Gmail promotions:

  • Gmail promotions are not displayed on corporate Gmail accounts.
  • Older Gmail app versions don't support promotions.
  • Promotions are not displayed in previously opened emails.
  • Promotions are only displayed on the day of sending the email.
  • Email filters might block the promotion from being displayed on the Promotion tab.
2 Open Calendar event settings from the arrow next to the title. If you want, you can specify a calendar event for the recipient from the event in your message, and the calendar attached to the recipient's email will make a calendar entry for your event.
3

Open Advanced settings from the arrow next to the title. In this section, you can skip image optimization and allow empty condition blocks.

Image optimization reduces the file size of images and makes the newsletter load faster. Image size is optimized by default.

Normally, a newsletter is not sent to a subscriber if the default content hiding is turned on in the personalized blocks and there is no content for the subscriber in any of the personalized blocks. Here you can allow empty condition blocks.
