Adding, editing, and removing images
To ensure that an image is displayed for all recipients, we recommend adding the image as an attachment to the press release. You can do this by adding the image at the bottom of the press release creation page where it says Attachments. However, if you want to embed the image to the press release, follow these instructions:
Embedding an image to a press release
You can add images to your press release text either as files from your computer or as links from the internet.
Adding an image from your computer
Drag the image you want from your computer to the place where you want it in the content field of the editor. The image is also automatically saved as an attachment on the press release. You can also add an image by utilizing the Add/edit image tool (landscape icon). Click the icon and click the arrow on the right from the Source field in the window that opens. Choose the image you want from your computer and press Save.
Adding an image as a link
First, open the image you want to add in a tab on your browser and copy the link of the image. Then click the Add/edit image tool (landscape icon) and enter the link you've copied in the Source field in the window that opens. Save your choices.
Image settings
In the general settings, you can write an Alt text for the image in the Alternative description field. The text will be shown if for some reason the image is not displayed to the reader. Google also finds the Alt texts and they can improve search engine visibility.
You can modify the image size in the Width and Height fields. When embedded in the press release, the maximum width of the image is 600px. The maximum height is not specified but 250-300px is a good height, for example.
Show caption allows you to choose if you want a caption field in the press release under the image.
We recommend using jpg or png formats for images that are embedded in the press release.
In the advanced settings, you can define the following settings:
- Vertical space = the empty space above an image in pixels
- Horizontal space = the empty space on the right and left side of the image in pixels
- Border width = the width of the image border in pixels
- Border style = there are many border styles you can choose from
Removing an image from the body of text in a press release
You can remove an image by clicking it with your mouse and then pressing the backspace on your keyboard (above Enter).
Please note that you also need to separately remove the added image from the attached files below the editor field.
Image alignment and size modifying
The alignment of an image that has been embedded into the body of text in a press release can be changed by clicking the image active and choosing the alignment.
You can modify the width and height of an image from the Add/edit image tool (landscape icon).
If you want, you can also add a border to the image on the Advanced tab and define the vertical and horizontal space between the image and text.
You can make the image added to the press release's body of text smaller or bigger by clicking the image once and dragging it to the size you want with your mouse (holding down the left button of the mouse).
Adding a video
In order to ensure the video works in the email version of the press release, the video should be sent as an image link.
Add an image to the press release according to the instructions above. After this, activate the image by clicking it with the mouse and then choose the link tool. Add the video's address to the Link address section and then choose Open in a new window from the dropdown menu. Save the edits by clicking Add.
Editing toolbar
On the first row, you find the tool undoing or redoing actions, applying bold, italic, or underline formatting to the text, and also alignment tools that you can use to align text to the right, left, center, or justified. You can also define paragraph styles in the dropdown menu that opens when you click the small arrow on the right of "Paragraph." You can also find tools for creating bulleted or numbered lists, adding indents or outdents, adding or removing links in the text (chain icons), inserting and editing images (landscape icons), add text without formatting (clipboard with a T), add multimedia (play icon), add charts or change to full-screen view.
Adding and removing a hyperlink
To add a hyperlink to the text, open the web page where you want to link to in a new browser window. Copy the web address in the URL field.
Return to the Create release view in LianaPress and highlight the part of the body text where you want to build the link. Then click the 'Insert/Edit Link' icon in the toolbar.
The following popup window opens. Paste the copied web address to the Link URL field and click 'Insert'. If you want to, you can also choose whether your link opens in a new window or the current window in the 'Target' drop-down menu.
To remove the link, click the text element where you have added the link and click the 'Remove link' icon (the broken chain icon) in the toolbar.
Search Engine Optimization
Search engine optimization (SEO) aspires to make the ranking of a webpage, in this case, your release, better in the search results of search engines. You can add a short and concise abstract of the release content in the Description field. The recommended length is 150-200 characters. You can also add keywords that match the content of the release. The recommended number of keywords is 5-10.
Adding attachments
To attach files, such as images or pdf, click on the Attachments and press the Upload file button to upload the file from your computer. Alternatively, you can drag and drop the file with your mouse. Grab the file with your mouse (click the file and hold the left button of your mouse down), drag the files to the area where it says "Drag and drop files here" and release the mouse button to drop the file.
We recommend using either jpeg or png formats when adding image attachments, but it is possible to attach gif and svg files as well.
All supported file formats listed and can be downloaded in the end of article, "file formats.pdf" named file.
