In the Forms view of GrowthStack, users can directly manage the bridge between their website's lead capture and their marketing tools. Here is what you can do on this page:
View and Monitor Forms: You can see a comprehensive list of all forms detected on your website, categorized by the specific Form plugin
Note: Supported form plugins currently are: Gravity Forms, Contact Form 7, WPForms and LianaAutomation Forms.
Search and Filter: Use the search bar to find a specific form by name or use the dropdown to filter the list by the source plugin.
Enable LianaAutomation connections: With a single toggle, you can activate a connection to LianaAutomation. This sends form submissions directly as events, which can be used to trigger automated marketing workflows.
Enable LianaMailer connections: You can toggle the connection to LianaMailer and click the Configure form button to set up the data flow.
Immediate data transfer means no manual exports are needed, ensuring potential leads are entered into automation chains (like "Welcome" or "Lead Nurture") the second they hit submit. You can easily disconnect or reconnect forms at any time by toggling the switches, giving you full control over which data flows into your Liana services.
Note: Before you can enable these connections, ensure that your API keys for LianaMailer or LianaAutomation have been correctly configured in the GrowthStack Settings. To get the API keys, contact your dedicated Liana customer success manager, or our technical support.
Connecting forms to LianaAutomation
Connecting a form to LianaAutomation is a "one-click" process. Because form submissions are imported as events, no manual field mapping is required. To connect, simply toggle the switch in the LianaAutomation connected column to the "on" position
Connecting to LianaMailer
Connecting to LianaMailer offers more granular control over your subscriber data. Since this process adds contacts to specific mailing lists, it requires a brief configuration.
1. Select the Subscription Site
The Subscription site selection is the most critical step. This setting acts as a filter and dictates exactly which mailing lists and property fields are available for mapping in GrowthStack.
What if a list or property is missing? If you cannot find a specific mailing list or contact property in the dropdowns:
For Mailing Lists: Ensure the list is marked as subscribable in LianaMailer and has been added to the selected subscription site.
For Properties: Verify the property exists in LianaMailer and has also been added to the subscription site settings.
2. Choose Mailing Lists
In the Mailing Lists field, you can select one or more lists that the contact will be automatically joined to upon form submission.
User Choice Option: You can toggle the "Let user choose which mailing lists to join in the form" setting if you want your website form to include a selection field for specific mailing lists.
3. Field Mapping
Field Mapping allows you to connect individual form fields (like "Company" or "City") to corresponding property fields in LianaMailer.
Mandatory Field: The Email field mapping is mandatory for the integration to work.
Custom Fields: Use the dropdowns to match your form's unique fields (e.g., a "textarea" for comments) to the desired LianaMailer property.
Richer data mapping enables high-level personalization. For example, mapping a "Product Interest" form field allows sales teams to send targeted follow-up content based on the user's specific needs
Managing Opt-ins and Consents
Integrating your website forms with LianaMailer often requires a clear way for users to provide consent for marketing communications. GrowthStack provides flexible tools to make your LianaMailer connection conditional based on user opt-in.
When you configure an Opt-in Field, the integration becomes conditional. This means the contact's information is only sent to your LianaMailer mailing lists if they have explicitly checked the opt-in box on your form.
Common Scenario: Use this on a general "Contact Us" form where you want to provide a non-mandatory checkbox that says, "Yes, I'd also like to receive the monthly newsletter."
Contact Form 7
You can set up the opt-in directly in the GrowthStack configurator using the Opt-in Field dropdown. If you have already created a checkbox in your form plugin, such as Contact Form 7, simply select that field from the list.
If your form lacks a checkbox, select the option to append an opt-in checkbox to the form dynamically to automatically create a new field for opt-in.
Gravity Forms
For Gravity Forms, you can add an opt-in field by a specialized LianaMailer Consent -field, which you find from within the Gravity Forms editor under 'Advanced fields'.
In the LianaMailer Consent -field settings, you can select which LianaMailer consent to use and set field label to rename the field. The consent label will be automatically fetched from LianaMailer, but you can also manually edit this to be more descriptive if needed.
Troubleshooting common Issues
Forms are not appearing in the list - If a form on your website is not showing up in the GrowthStack Forms view, ensure that the form plugin you are using is supported (e.g., Gravity Forms or Contact Form 7) and that the GrowthStack plugin is up to date.
LianaMailer lists or properties are missing - If you cannot see a specific mailing list or property field in the configuration window, check two things in LianaMailer:
Verify the mailing list is marked as subscribable.
Ensure both the list and the property have been added to the specific Subscription Site you selected in GrowthStack.
Contacts are not being added to lists - If submissions are successful but contacts don't appear in LianaMailer, check your Opt-in settings. If an opt-in field is configured, the contact will only be synced if they have checked that specific box on the form.
Automation triggers are not firing - Ensure that the form is successfully connected to LianaAutomation in the GrowthStack dashboard. Search for form submission events in LianaAutomation.
