Liana Technologies leverages artificial intelligence (AI), later known as Liana AI Assistant, to enhance the capabilities of our platform and provide users with advanced tools for marketing, communications, and PR. We understand that our customers' data is a precious resource and that you need to utilize trusted AI technology to power your growth.
AI Security
1. How does Liana ensure AI feature security? Liana implements rigorous security measures for its AI features, operating within the same high standards as our core services. We are ISO 27001 certified, ensuring a comprehensive approach to information security management.
- Secure Infrastructure: Liana operates primarily on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Our systems are architecturally designed to ensure that data belonging to different customers is compartmentalized and never mixed.
- Logical Isolation: From the perspective of Liana's services and the AI models, all data is logically (or physically) isolated so that different customers' data never mixes.
- Encryption: All external data transfers from our systems are encrypted to ensure confidentiality and security during transmission.
2. Where is my data processed? Liana operates primarily in the EU/EEA area. For European customers, all data is processed within the EU.
- Infrastructure: We strictly use the EU/EEA regions for our cloud service providers (GCP).
- No External Transfer: As we operate in GCP, no data needs to be sent to an "external" AI model outside of our controlled environment.
- Data Residency: Data processed by Liana is located in the EU or in Europe.
3. How are Liana's AI features moderated? Use of Liana's AI features is subject to our standard Acceptable Use Policy found in our General Terms and Conditions section 5 Use of services. Customers are prohibited from using the Services to send or distribute illegal, defamatory, offensive, or fraudulent content. Liana reserves the right to suspend services if usage violates these terms or applicable laws.
Privacy & Data Use
1. How does Liana use my data when I engage with AI features? When you use Liana AI Assistant, your data is used solely to generate the requested output for your immediate context.
- No Training on Customer Data: The data the user inputs to the model is never used for model training or similar purposes.
- Service Providers: Liana uses trusted service providers (specifically Google's models) to provide AI features. User prompts and outputs are shared with this service provider solely to enable the use of AI.
- Strict Purpose: Liana collects and processes only data that is necessary for the service and does not process data in a way incompatible with these purposes.
2. What controls and choices do customers have?
- Opt-Out: The customer has the possibility to opt out from all AI features that use the customer's own personal data.
- Control over Inputs: You are responsible for any text, images, or other material (prompts) that you upload or input into the AI.
- Control over Outputs: All actions taken on Liana’s platform are done by the user and, hence, the user is solely responsible for any use of AI-generated content on the platform. Please refer to our AI commercial use document.
3. Will sensitive data be used in Liana’s AI products? The collection and processing of special categories of personal data (such as health data, biometric data, or credit card information) is fundamentally prohibited in Liana's Services.
Legal & Rights
1. Who owns the content generated by Liana AI?
- Usage Rights: The customer always has full rights to use the output in their own context. The Customer has the right to use and exploit the output in accordance with the terms and conditions.
- Copyright: Liana reserves the rights to the AI algorithms and models. However, customers should be aware that generally, AI-generated content (especially images) cannot be copyrighted under current intellectual property laws.
2. How does Liana ensure AI compliance with laws (GDPR)? Liana processes all data, including data handled by AI, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable legislation.
- Processing Agreement: All processing is covered by our Personal Data Processing Agreement (DPA), where Liana acts as the Processor and the Customer as the Controller.
- Subprocessors: Liana maintains a strict list of subprocessors and ensures they comply with data protection obligations. Link to subprocessor list
