Set the newsletter preheader and draft name below the subject field

  • Updated

We’ve made it easier to set the newsletter preheader by moving it from the Settings tab directly below the subject field in the editor view. This allows you to quickly utilize the newsletter content when creating a descriptive preheader. Now, the draft name of the newsletter is also set below the newsletter subject.

Click Advanced settings under the Subject field. Enter the desired preheader in the Custom preheader field and assign a name to the draft in the Draft name field.

Please note that for some users, the change will take effect with the next LianaMailer update, which we will announce separately.

What is a preheader?

A preheader is the text displayed after the subject line in an email preview. It is one of the three elements a recipient sees first in your message, along with the subject line and sender’s name.

Why isn't the preheader text displayed even though I've added it in the settings?

If your newsletter does not include an archive link ($archive$), the system automatically inserts one at the beginning of the email. As a result, the automatically added View in browser link replaces the preheader text because the link is not already present in the newsletter.

To ensure the preheader text is displayed correctly, add a View in browser link to your newsletter.

You can find the View in browser link in the placeholder menu. Click the three dots in the editor and select View in browser from the list of placeholders.
